HOW WILL THE CONCEPT OR SERVICE EVOLVE IN THE FUTURE?
In the future we plan to expand the program beyond the Teen department and to collaborate with our Children’s and Adult departments - especially with a focus on families and the tween audience. We would also like to explore more robust partnerships with outside organizations to provide more activities to con-goers and educational support to Chicago Teen Gamer Guild members. We are already exploring a partnership with DePaul University’s Esports program that would allow college students to mentor Chicago Teen Gamer Guild members.
Other potential evolutions of Gamers Universe would be to offer more events throughout the year and to run a multiple day con with different program focuses.
In terms of the Chicago Teen Gamer Guild, one future plan is to create formal sub-guilds that would focus on particular gaming events and services. This would allow for deeper mentorship on the teen’s chosen focus area.
